The Boys series finale will hit theaters alongside Prime Video

It seems like of series, especially those within the streaming sphere, have been pivoting to releasing the series finale in theaters. The obvious posterchild is Netflix’s Stranger Things, which had a limited theatrical release around its launch, the finale of HBO Max’s The Pitt also got that treatment, and arguably most controversial, you have The Amazing Digital Circus, which made its main home free on YouTube, will hit theaters about two weeks before it launches on its home platform. Now, The Boys is throwing their hat in the ring.

The series will go out with a bang, using 4DX technology, which basically means “ya might vibrate” while watching the finale. More info will be heading our way through 4DX directly, according to an Amazon MGM rep speaking to Variety.

For those out of the know, The Boys is a Prime Video series that adapts Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s comic series of the same name. The satirical superhero drama is spearheaded by Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, and Evan Goldberg back in 2019. The series has amassed a lot of popularity and has sparked a handful of spin-offs including Gen V, which was binned after two seasons, alongside a prequel series, Vought Rising, an animated anthology, The Boys Presents: Diabolical, and The Boys: Mexico.
