Rick and Morty returns this October

Adult Swim’s flagship animated sci-fi series, Rick and Morty, is slated to make a return later this year. The show will star the co-creator following the domestic violence allegations.

The announcement comes from the official Rick and Morty X, which shared a poster that shows Rick Sanchez alongside Morty and Summer Smith.

It’s still unclear who is going to take over the role of the iconic duo, as they both were voiced by Justin Roiland who has since been cast out due to allegations of domestic violence, which have since been dropped. This also means the show is swapping studios as previous seasons were produced by Justin Roiland’s Solo Vanity Card.

Previously, producer Steve Levy noted that the studio was going to use soundalikes, so if they’re good then we shouldn’t be able to really tell a difference. However, some are still sour over the change, as Roiland is the show to some people. It’s hard to really just bury the show, though, as Adult Swim’s already renewed it for up to Season 10.

The crew seems confident, though, in this new season, asserting that it might be even better since the co-creator’s departure. We’ll have to wait and see, but we can already say that this is going to be a controversial premiere when it hits the network on October 15.
