John Wick spin-off taps Bill Nighy for role

Fresh off 500 Miles, British actor Bill Nighy has signed a deal to appear in John Wick spin-off Caine. This comes shortly after the live action How to Train Your Dragon star, Mason Thames, picked up a role, too.

As reported by THR, the spin-off, spearheaded by Donnie Yen, will see both Nighy and Thames enter the fray as well as see Rina Sawayama reprise her role as Akira. In terms of its crew, Mattson Tomlin, who’s working on The Batman Part II is poised to ink the script alongside Michael McGrale. Producers include Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, Chad Stahelski, and Keanu Reeves. Yen takes the executive producer role alongside Courtney Brock.

Caine follows John Wick: Chapter 4, following being freed from his duties to The High Table, only to seemingly be thrown back in.

The film has been shooting in Budapest and Hong Kong.
