The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender, the first film in the franchise, was leaked some time back, at the time, it was said Nickelodeon had accidentally sent the full film to the leaker. Now, of course, it was expected that it would eventually come to light who this leaker was and Nickelodeon would slime — sue — him into oblivion if his legal system wouldn’t do it for them.
While the name wasn’t cited in Straits Times, which breaks the story, the man behind the leak has been identified and arrested. The leaker, who is currently being investigated, faces upwards of seven years in jail, a fine of at most $50,000, or both.
The preliminary investigation took place on April 16 and the leaker was arrested that same day. Somehow, he managed to gain access to a media server and managed to download the film and share parts online. It spread like wildfire on platforms like 4Chan. That said, this singular leaker wasn’t the one that leaked the whole film — just parts. A completely different Singapore-based account did that.

What is The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender?
The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender takes place years after Fire Lord Ozai’s defeat where Aang, played by Eric Nam and replacing D. B. Sweeney, who played his role in Legend of Korra, finds himself on a mission to find a powerful staff that could revive his culture after finding the rare fellow airbender, Tagah, played by Dave Bautista. Things aren’t all dandy, though, as a group seeks the same staff for nefarious purposes.
The film did cause a bit of rumble, as basically the entire cast was replaced so they could better match the actor’s ethnicity with the role they’re playing. This didn’t sit well with old school fans who are getting tired of voice acting becoming more and more tainted with focusing on unnecessarily matching the race of a character with the VA.
The Legend of Aang was originally slated for a theatrical release before being pulled to release on Paramount Plus on October 9 instead.
