Spider-Noir will feature a hyper niche baddie that appeared only once in the comics

Without good villains, good heroes can’t be made. But, sometimes, long-lasting villainy just doesn’t jive well with certain foes. But, Spider-Noir, the MGM and Prime Video-backed Spider-Man series is bringing a rather niche villain in the spotlight. In fact, this character is so niche, they’ve never been seen outside of the comics, and even then, he hasn’t been seen since 1993.

IGN first got the scoop, Dirk Leydon, though his villain name is Megawatt, appeared in Spider-Man Unlimited Vol. 1 #2 as an ex-con-turned-actor who comes face-to-face with Jonas Harrow. His power is the ability to store and release electricity.

Beyond Leydon, who will be portrayed by Andrew Lewis Caldwell, we can also expect a slurry of other foes, including Silvermane, Tombstone, a wholly original villain, and more.

Spider-Noir is set in a wholly separate universe from the MCU as well as Sony’s SpiderVerse. The series sees award-winning actor, Nicolas Cage, as the star, Ben Reilly as he performs his brand of justice set in the 1930s. The series debuts on MGM+ on May 25 before heading over to Prime Video a few days later on May 27.
