Masters of the Universe star told to put on some pounds for Red, White & Royal Wedding

Off the heels of finishing up his role as He-Man in Masters of the Universe, Nicholas Galitzine got to indulge in vastly different eating habits, even told to “stop weightlifting,” for his role in Red, White & Royal Wedding. This, as some may imagine was “music” to his ears.

Galitzine spoke to Variety at the Masters of the Universe premiere at Hollywood’s TCL Chinese Theatre. When asked what his guilty pleasure was, he stated macaroni and cheese and stumbled, saying “you don’t even want to know” and that it was “sickening” what he had to eat.

Director Travis Knight had explained why Galitzine was the selected actor to portray the role rather than someone who may already have had that physique. Simply put, he could see everything else in the actor to bring He-Man to life if he could just make that transformation happen.

“I knew Nick had all the qualities that you needed to bring a character like [He-Man] to life. He has vulnerability, he has charisma, he has charm, he’s very funny and then he had to transform his body.”

Meanwhile, Knight is not dismissing potential sequels, he does assert that they may be getting a bit ahead of ourselves. But finishes that comment about if “the world wants more” they’ve got “more stories to tell.”

Masters of the Universe hits theaters on June 5.
