The live-action Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is catching a lot of heat lately. From revealing the retelling of the Germanic fairytale will feature Latina Rachel Zelwiger as the leading actress to the even more bizarre misstep of casting taller actors to play the seven dwarfs.
Last year, Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage expressed his disappointment in the whole project itself. But, recently, more have come forward, including Jason Acuna, professionally known on Jackass as Wee Man, ripping Disney for taking away jobs from dwarf actors, not mincing words and calling it a “bad thing” in an interview with TMZ.
Wrestler Dylan Postl also shares Acuna’s thoughts, recently bashing Disney for effectively taking dream jobs away from dwarf actors, citing that many of these actors would dream of being in a major production like a live-action Snow White.
This adaptation has been in development since 2016, but much of the details are still hidden behind the curtain, except for the story, which most anyone knows. Joining Zelwiger, we have Gal Galgot taking on the role of the Evil Queen. Behind the scenes, the script was inked by Barbie‘s Greta Gerwig and Vinyl’s Erin Cressida Wilson.
We still have no clue when we’ll see Snow White bite into that poison apple, or rather considering Prince Charming is reportedly scrapped from the film in order to make her “stronger,” she very well may not eat the apple to begin with.
