To say Adventure Time is popular is like saying the sky is blue. Naturally, they don’t really give up the franchise, so spin-offs it is with the first poster for Adventure Time: Side Quests dropping.

Side Quests follows Finn in his early years of monster fighting in the land of Ooo. The series will offer standalone episodes with the duo reconnecting — probably for the first time in at least a couple instances — with iconic side characters found in the original show.

What is Adventure Time?

For those somehow out of the know, Adventure Time was created back in 2010 and was initially run by series creator, Pendleton Ward, before passing the baton to Adam Muto, who was a classmate of Ward.

The series follows Finn the Human, a boy among the last humans, living his with best bud, Jake the Dog. The two go on adventures, fighting monsters and helping Princess Bubblegum. As series went on, it started pivoting away from one-off silly adventures in favor of a more concise stories and building some rather dark lore for a cartoon on Cartoon Network.

It lasted for a solid 10 seasons before finally concluding in 2018. The series lived on through two different spin-offs — Adventure Time: Distant Lands and Adventure Time: Fiona and Cake. The series also has another series in the pipeline focused on the duo’s game console companion, BMO titled Heyo BMO.

Adventure Time: Side Quests launches to Hulu and Disney Plus on June 29.
