Netflix’s new live action Scooby-Doo show reveals the pup
Fans have been waiting some time for a new piece of live action Scooby-Doo media, and it seems Netflix is eager to deliver with Scooby-Doo: Origins. While it’s still a year out, planned to hit the service in 2027, we finally got a glimpse into what Scoob will look like, and unlike most adaptations, Netflix is opting to use a real dog.
A teaser was thrown around on social media, putting us in Scoob’s point of view before pivoting to reveal the hound in question jumping into Shaggy’s arms.
In case it flew under your radar, Scooby-Doo: Origins is Netflix’s reimagining of the iconic teen mystery solvers consisting of Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy, and their canine companion, Scooby. In the show, which is spearheaded by Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg, the crew are enjoying the last hours of camp until coming across the canine, who may or may not have seen a supernatural murder.
The main cast is tied together with Tanner Hagen, Maxwell Jenkins, Mckenna Grace, and Abby Ryder Fortson while Paul Walter Hauser is involved in a secret role.
Both Appelbaum and Rosenberg serve as showrunners alongside writers and executive producers. Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, André Nemec, Jeff Pinkner, Adrienne Erickson, and Toby Haynes are all tacked to executive produce, as well.
