New Daredevil: Born Again season halves in ratings

Yeah, it seems like Daredevil: Born Again may be not getting the return Marvel hoped for. The original season failed to capture a large audience, failing to reach the Nielsen Top 10 and numbers didn’t get any better as time moved forward.

Comicbook reports that Luminate, another third-party tracker similar to Nielsen, is also looking grim. In fact, it’s looking terrible for the series, as it’s apparently lost nearly half of its audience. This report is based on the accumulated views each season had during their respective five-week runs. Season 1 of Daredevil: Born Again saw a pretty middling 8,357,000 season views, but Season 2 is worse, clocking in at 4,515,000 season views.

Surprisingly, though, it seems Season 3 is underway while other street level hero-starring projects are also in the pipeline somewhere, like The Punisher and Jessica Jones. We can’t say for sure if Born Again’s audience will have an impact on current projects, but likely, Marvel — or perhaps their parent, Disney — may have higher expectations to hopefully recoup the costs of this not-so-hot Daredevil series.

Daredevil: Born Again ends its season on May 5, so unfortunately, we doubt there will be a massive surge of fans coming out of the wood works to watch the season finale.
